Manduba

Description: Fishes that have leather skin, small head and big eyes. They rarely are longer than 1ft and weight more than 1 lb. The coloration is gray on the back, and the head is poorly developed, with some black oval spots.

Ecology: They are omnivores and can be found throughout the length of the rivers, especially on the sandy beaches and outflows of streams, where they can be captured throughout the whole year. Despite the small size, their meat is excellent, so they are well accepted, mainly for subsistence.
