For your fishing to get even better, here are some tips of what to bring.


FISHES

peacock basses, pike-characins, payaras, etc. Rods up to 2 lbs, reels and spools of medium size, with lines of multi filament from 20 to 25 lbs, leader of fluorocarbon from 40 to 60 lbs, or monofilament lines from 0.01 to 0.02 in of diameter

Fishing rodsof medium and fast action, measuring from 5.30to 6.60 ftof 15, 20, 25, 30 lbs.

ARTIFICIAL BAITS

For surfaces (various brands), mid-water (barbs) and bottom (long barbs), jumpingjigs (0.04 to 0.07 lbs) for bottom fishing ofpayaras and south american silver croakers (full months from January to June); hooks maruseigono. 30 or 4/0 and 40 lbssteel (anti-piranha) and average sliding sinker (we provide at cost at the lodge).

To fish pacus at the bottom: thin lines (up to 0.01 in), small hooks with fine steel and light sinker.



FISHES

redtail catfish, flatwhiskered catfish, manduba, gilded catfish, young fishes etc. High-profile reels or spinning reels which involve lots of lines, gauge between 0.03 and 0.04 inof thickness (there are wells which are 164 ft deep in the dry period, measured with sonar), leader of fluorocarbon.

Fishing rods from 6 to 7ftof length and between 40 to 100 lbs of extra heavy action (this is a not much flexible tip).

HOOKS

7/0 ; 8/0 ; 9/0 good quality

SINKER

from0.07 to 0.13 lbs (we provide at the lodge)



Fishing rods numbering between 2 to 4 - For small fish (piabas, millets, brycons and small peacock basses, the lightweight equipment is well suited). ForPike-Characin, Peacock BassandPacu – Fishing rods # 6 to #8. ForPayarasandtrahiras – Fishing rods # 7 to 10.

LINES

Floating, Intermediate and Sinking compatible with heavier equipment and floating for lighter equipment.

FLIES

- assorted streamers (payaras, peacock bases and pike-characins) hook 2/0 to 4/0. - poppers, divers e sliders (peacock bases). Grasshoppers and “coquinhos” for pacus.Hook no. 2 and no. 4.

Little streamers, mini poppers, stimulator and hoppers. Other fishes.


Sunscreen, insect repellent, hat or cap, sunglasses (polarized), needle-nose pliers (garateia), pincers. If you need any of those things, we can provide them at cost price at the lodge.
